FEA participates in American Education Week

Nov. 17-21 is American education week. This week is dedicated to making sure that teachers, substitutes and other workers in the education field are shown the appreciation they deserve.

“It’s always important to celebrate education,” FEA sponsor Kim Coil said.

Monday is substitute appreciation day, and members of FEA will hand out goodie bags to substitutes throughout the week. Tuesday members will hand out Hershey’s chocolate to the teachers and Thursday, they will each shadow a teacher in the district.

“I like that it gives FEA members a chance to see what teachers have to put up with and what they like about teaching,” president Katie Coffey said.
