Bringing together James Allison, Paul Baker, JC Kime, John Wilson, and Brad Chapman creates, Bound, a band that loves what they do and enjoys playing together.
“[The best part about having a band is] when the people sing back at you and when the audience is rocking out,” Allison said.
Allison is a Social Studies teacher at FHN; this is his first year teaching. He used to attend North, along with fellow band member JC Kime. Allison is the drummer, Kime is the base guitarist, Wilson and Chapman are guitarists, and Baker is the singer. Chapman is new to the band and has only played with them for the past year or so.
“Getting to know the guys and playing music with my friends [is my favorite part about being in the band],” Chapman said.
The band likes to play for the church and in front of large audiences.
“[We usually play] for church and youth events now, but we used to go to bars and clubs,” Allison said.
Bound played at FrauFest this year. They were excited because they hadn’t done anything like that in a while. They played in FrauFest the first year it started when they were all in high school.
The largest audience they have ever played for was when they had their CD release party. They played in front of 3,000 people in a room that was supposed to only hold 300.
They are very passionate about what they do and they all love to rock with each other.
“[Our future goals are] just to take it step by step and we will see where we end up,” Chapman said.
