FHN’s JV cheerleaders had a packed season, as they cheered for football, soccer, basketball, and wrestling.
“I liked football,”coach Erica Gettemeier said.
“[I’ve] always been a football fan, but basketball is very fast paced. Football is at the beginning of the year, and a lot of kids are interested in it and you can do more stunts there than you can do in soccer.”

The team has 13 girls and two guys, and they cheered at about 56 games.
“My favorite thing about the season was the competition,” sophomore Nicole Thompson said.
The team went to the UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) competition and won first place and they qualified for Nationals, but chose not to go.
“I think the season went good; we won first place,” Thompson said.
Though the season is over, tryouts started March 6.
“I’m looking forward to winning competions,” freshman Katey Schulte said. “That and learning how to do a back handspring.”
