DECA readly to head off to leadership conference

On Sept. 15, DECA is going to a district leadership conference at the St.Peters City Hall. Because of the limited space at the City Hall only 56 Francis Howell North students can attend. Though this is a minor set-back, there will be other events to attend later in the year.

“The conference is not a competition,” said sponsor Joe DeCiechi. “The national

competition will be much more exciting.”

Unlike the competitions there are no qualifications needed to attend the conference.

All that you need to do is pay your money in time. Some students even decide not

to go because they would rather wait until the competitions.

“I wasn’t interested in attending the conference,” said junior Lauren Jacobson.

“I will defiantly be attending the competitions though.”

At the conference the students will be doing a variety of things from listening to a

motivational speaker to participating in group activities with students from other

schools.

“I think the kids will have a lot of fun,” DeCiechi said.
