Preparing for a new year

preparingforanewyear52010_1While some bask in the summer sun, others, believe it or not, are preparing for the next school year.  The Student Council officers and cabinet for 2010-2011 will be attending M.A.S.C. summer camp June 6-12 at William Woods University in Fulton, MO.  They attend in order to meet and interact with STUCO representatives from schools across the entire state.

“I can’t wait to see what other Student Councils do and show them everything we do at the same time,” student council President Alyssa Bocci said.  I hope we can learn some new ideas and how to make things more fun at North.”

In addition to just learning what events and activities the other councils create, the camp is also a chance to find out more about yourself and the responsibilities of being an officer.

“I want to develop a new sense of leadership because I feel that in order to help everything run smoothly at North, we all need to be good leaders,” Vice President Dani Berger said.

Each officer will learn in different groups of people while at camp to find out new ideas from various others.  Then, they will be able to collaborate as the time comes to work on events when school starts back up in the fall.

“I’m hoping we can all learn as much as we can to work together so we can make our Student Council and the school better for next year,” Bocci said.
