Happe plans to run to state

Sophomore Alexis Happe has already proved herself to be one of the top runners on the track team. She started running officially her freshman year when she joined the team. By the end of the year she had worked hard enough to make it to state, and place twelfth.

“I attempt to run everyday, but sometimes it doesn’t work out,” Happe said.

Happe started running because because it had become a tradition in her family. She runs the 4×8, 800, and mile. Here favorite run is the mile, and her best time so far is 5:23. What helps Happe to stay motivated is the people that run with her, and the feeling she gets from doing well.  Although Happe enjoys what she does, she still finds it difficult to work at and excel.

“[It’s hard having to work at it everyday, even on your days off and the weekend,” Happe said.

With new goals in mind Happe plans to go big, and make it to state. She realizes how she did last year, and now she only plans to go further.

“I want to drastically improve from last year, make it to state again in the mile, and place higher,” Happe said.
