From Senior night to Jepp night

Senior Ryan Jeppesen geared up to play his last home game for North on Feb.17. Jeppesen has played basketball all four years of high school looking forward to the night that would be devoted to him. It is a tradition to honor seniors on one night out of their sports season. Since Jepp was the only senior on varsity basketball this year, the name of the Senior night was changed to Jepp night.

” I felt loved because Senior night became Jepp night and all my friends and family were there supporting me by making giant cut outs of my face,” Jeppesen said.

Jeppesen played his last home game against Howell Central and unfortunately lost. Jeppesen played his best that night knowing that this would be the last time he got to play a home game at North. Every time that Jeppesen had the ball the crowd went nuts with supportive screams and cheers. Even though the team was disappointed that they lost, the crowd was still extremely proud of the players and their senior.

“We made shirts with his face on them and went crazy every time he touched the ball because he’s a beast,” basketball fan Jacob Hurrell said.

Jeppesen left it all on the court that night. He doesn’t have plans on pursuing his basketball career any further than high school. Now that he’s done playing for North he just looks forward to shooting some hoops for fun on his free time.

“Jepp played as hard as he could that night and I’m going to miss that heart out of him and his corney jokes before a game,” teammate Andrew Raguini said.
