Young Republicans Talk T-Shirts

The Young Republicans club, a newly developed group at FHN, has been growing since their first meeting back in September.

Continuing what they started, Thursday, Nov. 7, will mark the club’s third meeting. The meeting will take place in Mr. Crow’s room, 154, before school at 7 a.m.

“It’s going to be a quick meeting,” said Vice President Matt Denno.

A few topics that will be discussed in this meeting are: publicity, event planning, and fundraising. Publicity is a priority because the club is so new.

According to Denno, the members are getting T-shirts so they can help spread the word about the club and hopefully bring in new members. Design, printing, and ordering of the shirts will be addressed.

“I really want to bring in younger people into the club,” said Denno. “ I hope more freshman and sophomore students decide to join.”

Another topic in the meeting is about events that the club wants to do. Members Kelsey McIlroy and Sydney Hardin both hope to hear more about the club field trip to Jefferson City.

“Not much has been said about the trip but I want to learn more about it,” said McIlroy. “I’m really excited to go to the state capital.”

One last topic that will be discussed is fundraising ideas for the trip and future club activities. According to Denno, from the previous meeting nothing had been set in stone on what they’re going to do to help fund this trip.

“I’m hoping to to do fundraisers like a hat day at school,” said Denno. “I also want to work together with the Young Democrats club since both clubs represent the school.”
