Battle at the Berrics Seven Is Almost Here

Battle at the Berrics Seven Is Almost Here

Most skaters know the intense level of competition that goes on at the Battle at the Berrics skate contests just from watching it. This competition will be different though, introducing the “Pros vs. Joes” idea. 16 no-name amateur skaters will get the challenge of their lives by going up against some of the biggest names in skateboarding to play games of SKATE for the grand prize of $20,000.

Recently, theberrics.com released a video of the Joes learning who they are going to be skating against. The pros names were placed in boxes and the Joes were told to open them. There were GoPro cameras hidden inside the boxes video-taping their reactions. Most of the Joes are excited, but when the Joe Nick Holt opens his box and discovers PJ Ladd, he looks upset and quickly closes the box. The caption for the video appropriately states “May God have mercy on their souls”.

Some of the pros who will be skating are the usuals, like Paul Rodriguez, Eric Koston, and Shane O’Neil. There are some interesting additions though, such as Wieger Van Wageningen, Trent McClung, and Morgan Smith.

There have been many interesting moments at BATB, (most notably Mike Vallely vs. Chris Cole in BATB 2) but this will be the most unique contest that The Berrics has held. Battle at the Berrics Seven starts this weekend, so make sure to look for it over at theberrics.com.
