Students for FHN is a group of students who try to establish a more positive atmosphere at North and promote student acceptance.

“My favorite part is getting to work with people who are different from me and making other people smile,” Bustos said. “We try to make people happier at school and when that actually happens, it makes my day.”

Students for FHN has done events like “Say Hi September”, where people wear name tags of their alter egos. They also do Happy Hallways, Penny/Change wars for Donate December, and recently decorated bathrooms with positive sticky notes. Students for FHN also do Friendly Fridays and Welcome Wednesday, where they hold the doors open and greet students in the morning.

“I love that this club is completely student driven and how the students come up with all the good ideas,” sponsor Erin Steep said.

According to Bustos, members of the club are in the process of planning for next year and will be doing something fun around finals to help relieve stress.
