Francis Howell School District on Lockdown After Local Shooting

Updated Nov. 16 at 3:11 p.m.: The FHSD released a statement via email at 1:22 p.m. updating the public about the shooting situation. The St. Charles County Police Department has stated that the suspects in the shooting are not in custody. FHSD schools will release as normal at the end of the school day, but extra staff will be on-site to ensure the safety of students.

Original Story: The FHSD released a safety alert via email on Nov. 16 regarding a shooting in a subdivision covered by the district. The St. Charles County Police Department is looking for a suspect involved in a shooting at 6:30 a.m. in the Harvest Acres neighborhood. All schools in the district are on a “soft lockdown,” meaning that students will not be allowed outside for P.E. activities and individuals entering the schools will be monitored closely.
