Girls swimming team takes strokes towards victory

Continuing a season full of excitement the girls swimming team has been making great strides towards their goal of winning as much as possible this year by winning some of their meets.


As the team as a whole continues to make their goal one of its members made one of hers. Junior Lauren Thrasher accomplished her goal of making a state time for this year.
“I did good,” Thrasher said, “The times weren’t my fastest times but it still got me the state times so I’m just gonna work on getting them faster.”
The team has continued to work hard at practice and at meets and are encourage by Thrasher’s times to improve as a whole and continue to work hard at their meets and at practice. She serves as a role model for her fellow swimmers.
“I think that it is great to have Thrasher on our team as inspiration,” Swim team captain Ally Stewart said. “Because she makes the rest of the team want to work harder.”
Thrasher now wants to continue the season propelled forward by her early accomplishments and has high hopes for the team.
“I am looking forward to us as a team winning a lot more meets,” Thrasher said. “I am excited about that because we have won more meets this year than the past few years. We are doing really well.”
Thrasher qualified for state times in the 100m breaststroke and the 200m IM or individual medley. This accomplishment will push her forward to accomplish more of her goals as she continues to swim.
“My goal for the season is to get state times,” Thrasher said. “And also just do the best that I can.”
