Golf team schedule messes with start

Thanks to relentless rain and thunderstorms, the golf team has gotten off to a sloppy start this season.

So far, they’ve played only one match—which they lost 2-3—and the rest have been postponed or canceled due to weather.

“Yeah, we’ve had one match,” senior Drew Kielty said, “and like four or five have been cancelled.”

According to Head Coach Les Hager, conditions have to be just right for golf: no rain, little wind, and temperatures preferably in the 50s. Those days have been few and far between over the last month, causing all sorts of problems for golfers.

The frustrating weather, however, hasn’t dulled the spirits of Hager.

“Everyone out there is getting dealt the same hand,” Hager said. “Nobody’s going out to practice when the weather’s this bad.”
