The girls’ Varsity volleyball team sat in the garage of senior Kendall Blanzy, ready to get to work. They had practice in half an hour, so they had no time to waste.
Quickly, they started painting.
With cries of “Where are the F, H and N?” from senior Kaitlyn Fouch, and the smell of spray paint in the air, they began to paint their shirts.
“It’s just something fun we wanted to do for Black and Gold Day,” Blanzy said. “Last year we were too lazy to do it.”
The seniors get to put their nicknames on the backs of their shirts, while the rest of the team decorates their clothing with splattered neon paint.
“Oh no,” senior Chrysa Goris yells, seconds after she realizes she painted her ‘N’ backwards. The girls laugh at her – and with her – proving that practice isn’t the only way to bring a team together.
