Local Band’s CD is a Breath of Fresh Air

“Don’t say you’re sorry, it’s not gonna save today,” sings Brookroyal frontman Jack Wiese… and he means it. The band’s new album “Motives”

is styled after the band’s brutally-honest, in-your-face, good-old-fashioned rock ‘n roll.

Brookroyal released their debut album with a show at Pop’s. Also on the bill were Reigning Heir, Copperview, 360 Smile, and Feed the Flame. Not only did the show concert feature cameos from local radio personalities from the Point, but it also broke the record for pre-sales at the 25-year-old venue. This isn’t too surprising though; between the 5 members, they share over 50 years of stage experience, sharing the stage with bands like Evanesensce, Sum 41, Seether, and Story of the Year. Their high-energy live shows are enough to get anybody in the crowd moving.

Despite the ticket sales and crazed fans at the show, the real story was the album’s release. “Motives,” the title track, starts the album off to a start that immediately tells you what kind of band Brookroyal is. The tracks go on to dive further into their sound with songs like their single “There Was a Time.” There’s even a song with guest vocals from local band Feed the Flame’s singer, ‘Pixie’ called “Bullets or Blanks.” This little surprise is a nice twist before right when you think you’re starting to get to know the band.

In the end, this album is enough to keep old fans happy and draw in plenty of new ones. Do yourself a favor, and pick up Brookroyal’s “Motives.” You won’t be disappointed.
