Science club cabinet

Cabinet for the science club this year has recently been

announced. Senior Zach Shollar was announced president, as he ran unopposed. Vice President senior Andrew Ball also ran unopposed. Freshman Rebecca Harms was voted treasurer, and sophomore Kelley Philabaun was appointed secretary.

“I was surprised when I found out,” Philabaun said. “It was the first time meeting any of those people and I was running against two or three other people. When I found out, I was like, ‘Wow! That’s shocking!'”

Along with the new faces to the science club, there are also some returning members. Both Shollar and Ball were cabinet members in previous years and some science club members have said that the upperclassmen this year are responsible and show great leadership qualities.

“They’ll do well because Ball and Shollar are repeats. They’re both seniors, and they’re both great leaders,” sponsor Donna Malkmus said.

This year, the science club has a lot of activities on their plate, including the infamous Mole Day quickly approaching on Oct. 23. In addition, the Greenway Network will be providing 1,500 trees and shrubs to plant in Wentzville to prevent the erosion of a creek. The science club will be volunteering to help out on Nov. 15. Later in the year, the science club will also be performing a magic show for students at Henderson Elementary. To find out how you can get involved in the science club activities, come to the meeting today after school or see Donna Malkmus in room 113.
