Today at 4:30 p.m., there won’t be a single car on Hackmann Rd. going more than five mph.
Instead, it will be lined with hundreds of Howell North’s most dedicated students. Almost 20 clubs will be marching from McClay library to the first entrance of Howell North in the second ever Homecoming Parade.
Last year’s parade, as explained by StuCo Vice President Izzy Boyer, was a last minute idea that StuCo thought would be a great way “to get even more people involved [with Spirit Week and Homecoming].”
“I think the parade is all about showing spirit and pride in the school,” Boyer said. “In all, it’s a good way for people to be involved with their individual clubs and have fun.”
Boyer, who planned last year’s parade as well as today’s, hopes “that the community comes out to watch and cheer [students] on this year.”
“I hope, and pray, that there will be a lot of people pumped up and excited,” she said.
Only a few hours after the parade comes to a halt in front of North, the junior and senior girls will meet at 7 p.m. for this year’s Powderpuff game.
