On Oct. 2, 2008 Francis Howell North’s J.V. volleyball team played their homecoming game against Fort Zumwalt South. The two good teams went head to head with the lead never being more than three points in the first game. North worked their magic winning the first game.
During the second game, the J.V. girls began to fall behind a little because of small mistakes. After a short conference from the coach the girls fought it out. They all pulled together ending the second game 23- 25. The girls were disappointed but ready to redeem themselves by winning the third game.
“We were a little shaky at the beginning, but as the games moved on, our teamwork picked up and we pulled together a win.”Olivia Barfield said.
With the girls after the win like hungry dogs after meat the girls played hard. Olivia Barfield gave her serves winning 19 points. With South making small mistakes the points came in. The score ended 25-9 due to the small mistakes of both team. It was a very edge of the seat game for parents in the audience yelling out to their kids to do this and that.
“I was excited we won, but I was disappointed with how my team played,” Coach said.
