Seniors win Powderpuff 105-91

41.3 seconds left in the game… touchdown! Seniors go crazy as their victory is beginning to become more real. The buzzer sounds and that ends the game, with a score of 105-91. Seniors finally felt a bit of relief

when the game had ended Katie Kirkman stated.

“It was a ridiculous feeling when the girls were all crowding around and freaking out.” Senior offensive powder puff coach Tyler Kirk said,” It was also big when Morgan Boudreau scored the last touch down making us have a commanding lead.”

On Oct. 1, 2008 it was 7:00 pm game time and the girls had reached their destination, the field. Junior and senior girls fought for the powder puff championship. About 100 junior and 100 senior girls lined up on their sides and were getting pumped. “With a crowd of almost two full stands filled it was hard not to be excited,”Tori Stepanek, a junior powder puff player, said.

“I’m rooting for the seniors and having a great time,” freshman Ami Francis said, while cheering in the stands.

Two minutes into the game and the juniors scored the first touchdown. At the end of the first quarter juniors were leading with a score of 21-0.

“Holy crap!” Andrew Hairlson, senior defensive powder puff coach, said looking back at how horrible both offense and defense played in the first quarter.

The seniors stepped it up and tied the game with in five minutes of the second quarter. With 7:35 on the clock seniors managed to lead 21-28, and continued scoring ending the second quarter 32-49. In the third quarter juniors led the first half but the seniors tied up the score 63-63.

“Second quarter the seniors were not happy at all,” Tyler Kirk, senior offensive powder puff coach, said, “but in the third quarter they stepped it up and even created their own plays.”

“I was so nervous when the seniors came back” Deidre Meyer, quarter back for junior powder puff, “They were tough competitors when it came to getting the score tied.”

The final quarter and every one became very nervous. The start of the half began by a flip flop of the score. Juniors would score then seniors, then juniors then seniors. The last touchdown was scored by senior, Morgan Boudreau which caused seniors to be ahead 14 points. The girls were jumping up and down and chanted “5…4…3…2…1.”

“I am so freaking excited my sisters team just won!,” freshman, Megan Frkovic said while jumping up and down.

Katie Stepanek thought differently then her best friend Frkovic “I am very angry that the juniors did not dominate, I expected more from them,” Stepanek said.
