As the final bell rings, most athletes head the practice. However, the girls swim team heads home for a few hours before practice begins at 8 p.m.
“I’d rather have it after school, but we don’t have a choice.” head coach Chip Crow said.
Because Fort Zumwalt School District pays taxes for the Rec Plex, they get first pick on practice times.
North swimmers were left with an 8-10 p.m. practice time. Besides being tired, there is no way to know for sure how the practice time effects the swimmers.
“I think it is a deterrent because it’s hard to come up to the pool, get home at like 10:30, quarter to 11, and then get up at 6 a.m.” Crow said.
