Knightline dances their way to Disney World for nationals

Knightline got the once in a lifetime chance to perform at Nationals on Jan. 29. They flew down to Orlando, Fla., joining 243 other dancing teams that were there to compete. Knightline practiced hard to make sure they would perform their best when they finally got to dance. Their hard work paid off when the team placed

13th out of all the teams that were there.
“I think it was good for the team,” Varsity coach Heather Box said. “There were some teams that when it was raining, they were out there practicing in the rain. I think it was good for the girls to see that type of dedication.”
Knightline began practicing
their routines months ago. They started the hip-hop dance practices in May, and the jazz practices in September. Right before they left for Florida, they went through two-a-days. At Nationals they had practices in the morning, and were free to explore the parks and Disney World for the rest of the day.
“Dancing was fun, but Disney World was the best part,” junior Jodi Wurm said.
They competed Saturday morning, performing both their jazz and hip-hop dances. The jazz dance was choreographed by professional choreographer Angie Behymer and the hip-hop routine was designed by both Behymer and junior dancer Rachel Hunt. The team was glad they had an opportunity to hang out with each other and do well at the competition.
“The competition was handled really well and went really fast,” junior Ellen Ransom said. “It went just right.”
