The annual FHN Cheer Clinic was held this past weekend on Saturday, Feb. 21. The clinic lasted from 8-11:30 a.m. Anyone interested in cheerleading and in middle school was able to participate in the clinic. Many young girls benefited from the clinic, but some did more than others.
“It benefited the eighth graders the most because it allowed them to get a feel for how tryouts would go,” Varsity cheerleader Stephanie Graflage said. “They were also shown the requirements to make the squad when they try out in March.”
The girls also benefited because they learned and practiced many things.
“They stunted, jumped, tumbled, and learned cheers and chants,” Graflage said.
Many of the Varsity cheerleaders also enjoyed teaching at the clinic.
“I like helping out the kids and teaching,” Varsity cheerleader Maggie Kube said. “I can’t wait to see how much the eighth graders have improved when tryouts happen.”
