Three hundred girls experience McCartney concert first-hand

At 9 p.m. at the St. Louis Pageant the screams for Jesse McCartney grew louder and louder. Suddenly the lights started dimming and the bass increased rapidly. Girls were jumping, hands were flying and still the screams continued. The crowd was already pumped up from the act, Anjulie Boom.

This new, different, upbeat artist really caught the crowds eye. But still no one compared to the Jesse McCartney.

After standing outside in the cold for an hour, everyone was ready to see what they came there for. The 300 hundred girls packed into the small dance floor and waited, while the rest of the audience sat at the tables. The band then started and out came McCartney and his two back-up singers. At this moment the crowd went crazy. If people thought they were squished before, now everyone was pushing, shoving and being trampled just to get closer to the stage, or should I say closer to McCartney.

He started out with some of his new songs from his new album Departure. After the crowd was even more hyped up, they went on a blast to the past and he sang his 2004 hit, “Beautiful Soul.” During this song the audience went insane. Every person was singing along with Jesse at the top of their lungs. When the song ended, McCartney left the stage and “Jesse’s Girl,” 80’s classic, came on. All the girls started to point to themselves as the back up singers scanned around looking for the girl. When McCartney reappeared, he and the two other guys picked one girl from the crowd. She was then able to get a solo from McCartney on stage. The rest of the girls grew with anger and envy as they watched what was going on on stage. McCartney then played a couple more songs and a sneak peak to his upcoming album. Finally, at 11 p.m., McCartney and his band said goodbye, the lights then got brighter, the bass became slower and the dance floor started to empty.

Even though my feet ached, my voice was gone and I could no longer hear, this was a great experience and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that made that possible.
