There are a few events going on at the library. One of them is on Friday, March 6 and is a Gateway boating party. To join in on the event, students must have read three or more books on the list the librarians provide.
If they have read at least three of the books on the list, students can vote at the party for their favorite book. The party will be during sixth and seventh hour classes on Friday.
The librarians will have food and prizes for participants. If students attend this event, they will get extra credit in their Communication Arts classes. Students have the option to come if they have read only one book, butthey won’t get to vote. Also at this event, readers will talk about the books.
Another event is the future is that librarians Sherri Pogue and Angie Gunnel will be going to the Lake of the Ozarks. While at the lake, they will attend a conference at the Tan-Tar-A resort.
“We will talk and meet with other librarians,” Gunnel said.
The last event the library wants everyone to know about is a book discussion. A book discussion will take place May 1 during sixth and seventh hour. The student book discussion will be on the book Rooftop by Paul Volpoin.
“When this is going on, they will have food, games and prizes,” Gunnel said.
