At Warrenton, FHN musicians do well as a whole

On March 7, Warrenton High School’s auditorium was filled with the sounds of many different instruments. Students, such as Sara Hardin, could be seen frantically looking for their scores posted in the hallway.

“Well I played my solo and got what they call a division one, which is just one out of five categories and you can only go to State if you get a one,” Hardin who has played the clarinet since sixth grade, said.

Overall FHN seemed to do well as a whole.

“Our school actually did really well. Fifteen groups or solos made it [to State] and that’s 20 people all together, which is more than double how many people made it from last year,” Hardin said.

All students who received a division one will be staying overnight in Columbia, Mo. on May 2 for State.

“I’m actually looking for to [State],” Hardin said. “It’s supposed to be a lot of fun and it’s overnight, and all of my friends are going.”
