When I was in pre-school I wanted to be a firefighter. When first grade came around I changed my mind to being a teacher. That lasted all through about eighth grade.
When it came time for me to start my freshman year in high school I decided to look into being a dentist like my dad.
I started reading some of the books he had but I just couldn’t get into them. Sophomore year I started watching channel 59, TLC, all the time and I was addicted to watching all of the surgeries that people were getting. I would watch all of the little movements the surgeons would make with the scalpel and all of the other utensils.
It wasn’t until junior year when I decided that journalism was the route I wanted to take. There is something so captivating about writing that makes me want to learn more and more about it. I also love designing pages. I could see myself sitting in an office with my Mac and looking out the huge windows viewing the beach and palm trees in Los Angeles.
I know it sounds like a far stretch but I know I can make it happen if I keep pushing myself. I want to make a name for myself. I want to be the name at the end an article that has a celebrity in it. I want to work for a major magazine.
