Student asks why food comes last in school’s priorities

Has anyone ever not got what they wanted? I’m not talking shoes or a new cute shirt, I’m talking about in the school’s lunches.

The other day I waited for 15 minutes in the chicken sandwich line, the cheap lunch line, thinking that the station wouldn’t run out of food. I saw it coming: two chicken patties left – one chicken patty left. I was next right after the girl in front of me, but she took the last one. Not only did this station run out of the chicken patties, it ran out of the hamburgers too. The lady was nice trying to offer me the only thing left which was turkey surprise. Did she really think I was going to eat that?

I went to the other stations, but what do you know, everything was gone. That’s what you get when you have 5B lunch. I stormed out of the lunch room thinking why should students suffer in lunch when the weight room just bought a whole new set of machines. If the school does not have money, why are we buying things we already have? I thought about it that day and the whole next.

Another day came and I was getting my lunch again. It was the chicken sandwich day in the expensive line. The school was actually being nice and putting two patties on everyone’s sandwich. It came time for my turn with only two patties left and one girl behind me. The lady tried to say sorry were out of food to the girl behind me but I wasn’t going to let that happen. I sacrificed my lunch and gave one of my patties to her.

Again the school had not bought enough food for 5B lunch. As this school year has gone by, I have put up with the shortage of food. But I’m tired of it. I think the school should cut back on the random stuff we do not need and buy enough food for the students and staff instead. I know life is not fair but this is passed not fair. The school district just needs to order the right amount of food and then get the fun things that they want after. Students should come first.
