Knightsound heads to Atlanta for competition

Today FHN’s Knightsound will be heading to Atlanta for an annual competition; the group will return on Sunday. Twenty-two members from Knightsound will be taking a charter bus down to the competiton and it will take around 10 hours to reach their destination.

Members hope to exceed at the performance because they say they put a lot of work into their performance.

“I think we will do well,” sophomore Tom Ehlmann said. “We have practiced quite a bit; we do every day in first hour and early on Thursday morning.”
Last year the Knightsound went to the competition in Nashville and earned first place. Judges at the competition scaled the groups who participate on a scale one to five, one being the best and five being the worst. Many schools from all over the country attend the competition. Knightsound will be singing “The Guys and Dolls Melody” this year.
“It’s my first year doing it, so I don’t know what to expect but I am looking forward to working with everyone,” sophomore Jake Simms said.
Knightsound will be staying in the Hilton hotel and be doing a lot of exciting things other than singing in the competition. Six Flags and an aquarium visit are a couple of the different things they will get to experience in Atlanta. The awards ceremony for the competition will also be at Six Flags.
“The experience of going to a new place is great and getting to meet other singers,” senior Noah Ellison said. “[I am most looking forward to] Six Flags because it’s a lot of fun and I am excited for all the rides.”
