The stage is set. The curtain is raised. The actors and actresses of FHN are in position. The final play to be put on by the FHN Drama Club in the 2008-09 school year is soon to debut.
Crimes of the Heart is centered around three sisters, their dysfunctional family, and the struggles they overcome as a result of their bond with each other. Tonight is the opening night for this drama by Beth Henley.
“Everything is kicked up a notch,” senior Jana Huebner said. “Each practice, we’ve gotten better and better.”
After weeks of hard work, everyone involved can now show off what the group has accomplished.
“The cast and crew have done a great job, especially since this is a play that’s not easy for a kid to do,” club sponsor Kathy Carron said. “Everyone involved did a great job with their characters and the set, and they should be proud tonight when it opens.”
Despite tonight’s performance being the opening night, there is little room for nervousness as showtime draws near. Don’t miss your chance to see “Crimes of the Heart” tonight, tomorrow, April 3, or Saturday, April 4, at 7:00 p.m. each night.
“I feel very calm and I’m looking forward to a good show,” Carron said. “We put in a lot of rehearsal this week and last week to get us here.”
