The Knights rolled to a 5-3 lead after Andrew Wooten hit a home run.
Washington then came storming back in the top of the sixth inning with three unearned runs to take lead 5-6. The Knights started the bottom of the sixth with a leadoff single by Adam Rapert. The Knights eventually scored four runs to take a 9-6 lead. Outstanding relief pitching shut Washington down to protect the three run lead.
“We didn’t give up and we came back,” Rapert said.
Rapert went 1 for 2, HBP, and a run scored.
“We never quit, and never gave up,” Coach Riffe said. “The team did so well and kept each other in the game and never lost focus.”
