In Tonishia Moore’s English I class, students just finished there Romeo and Juliet unit. In this unit they started out by watching the new version of Romeo and Juliet. In this movie the whole scene in set into modern day. Following the movie,
the students took turns acting out the Romeo and Juliet play. Finally, the class watched the original movie.
“During the Romeo and Juliet unit we watched two movies: the new and old. It was interesting to see the differences between them,” Brie Wilson said.
Currently, Moore’s classes are in Grammar Boot Camp. Moore made every effort to make the grammar lesson as fun as possible. For example, she showed the class music videos to help them learn the understanding of grammar points and words. At the same time as the students are learning, they are also having fun.
“My English teacher always tries to relate the curriculum to things I know like music, movies and books,” Wilson said.
