Around this time of year, many students prepare for prom in our high school. I can understand why, for juniors and seniors, prom is a very big deal. My mom is a tailor and every year, girls bring in their dresses to make them fit better,

and make their prom even more enjoyable with an awesome dress.

Since my mom owns her own shop, I help her a good majority of the time, especially during this busy season. I’ve been helping her for many years – as long as I can remember. So prom just doesn’t seem as big of a deal to me, as it does someone else, just because of the pure fact that I have been around it so much throughout the years.

Being a junior, who’s dealt with prom for oh so many years, I just can’t get excited anymore about prom. To me, it’s just another big deal school dance.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love dressing up and going to dance with my friends and having fun just as much as the next girl. But, I kind of lost all the hype about it. As a junior, I don’t actually see this year’s prom the same way a senior would. I just see it as another school dance, but it’s way more classier. But for a senior, it’s a celebration of the biggest achievement so far in life, finishing high school.
