Physics students enjoy field-trip to Six Flags

Usually on a normal day at Six Flags you can see people of all ages, running around and enjoying their days filled with rides. Instead, on April 24, the people at Six Flags mainly consisted of high school students enrolled in some sort of Physics or Calculus course.

From about 9 a.m. until about 4 p.m. students could be seen carrying pencils, paper, and calculators in order to take measurements of certain roller coasters.

“I had fun, but the lines are longer than usual,” AP physics student Tyler Compton said.
The lines were very long because until students finished their calculations , they had specified rides that they had to ride. Once the students finished the problems in their packets, students could ride whatever rides they wanted.
“I almost dropped out of physics and it was worth staying in it for this,” junior Annie McFarland said.
Not only could the students have a funfilled day of education, the weather was also around 80 degrees, which made for a perfect day to spend at Six Flags.
“The weather was perfect and I really learned alot today. I’m never going to forget this day,” physics student Justin Kendall said.
