These are the best days

As the end of the year is quickly approaching, we underclassmen get one step closer to our own graduations. They’re really not that far away. I still remember my first day of freshman year: I missed schedule pick-up day, causing me to receive my schedule the first day of school, which left me completely lost

looking
for my first hour English class. But, luckily, a lot has changed since then. A lot more is going to change, as well.
We’re not done yet. It may be easy to watch the seniors: teary-eyed, ready to start a new chapter of their lives, and think about how much we can’t wait until it’s us. But it’s not us, at least not yet.
For all of you freshmen – you’re just starting. Your whole life here is ahead of you. You have absolutely no idea what kind of interests you’ll develop in the next three years. My freshman year, I thought I wanted to be on Knightline . Now here I am playing tennis and teaching piano. Who would have guessed? The possibilities are endless. There are so many chances for you.
For the sophomores – I know it seems like the end is nowhere in sight. You’ve been here for two years; you still have two more to go. And I know it sounds cliche, but it really does fly by. What seems monotonous now, you’ll someday wish you had back.
As for us juniors – one more year! We’re so close. It’s so tempting
to stop trying. We’re almost gone, there’s no reason to care, right? Wrong. This last year is supposed
to be the best yet. Let’s not give up on it now.
The point is, our time spent at this school is running out. We may not be seniors, but we’re certainly getting there. Our own graduations are right around the corner. Once we leave, there’s no going back; there’s no telling where our lives are going to go. But as of now, we’re here. We still have another one, two, maybe even three years. So while we’re at it, why not make the most of it? That way, when it finally is our turn to wear that cap and gown, we’ll know that we’ve truly earned it.
