Graduation practice

“12 years of hassle for an ’09 tassel,” the saying in which the FHN senior class choose to wear on their T-shirt Thurs. May 14 as the walked into the gym for graduation practice.

This ceremony was to inform students of what would occur at graduation and the rules that would be strictly enforced, such as the dress code. Males are required to wear dark pants, a white shirt, and a tie. Females are also required to wear either a dark dress and shoes or attire similar to the males. Failure to do so would result in not being allowed to walk.

“Graduation practice was informative, but really boring,” said senior Danny Dubois.

Students were also required to practice sitting in unison with their homeroom, and walking in a single-file line.

“This practice helped me learn how to work as a team,” said senior Oscar Morales.

To many the practice ceremony made graduation really come into perspective.

“This made it seem really because we were actually going though the steps and are one-step closer to college,” said senior Katy Bogar.

Graduation practice quickly came to an end as students followed one another to form the traditional horseshoe, which is only done by FHN. While standing here seniors were able to practice the anticipated throwing of the caps, and think about the ceremony itself, which is soon to come.

“I’m most excited for the ceremony itself and throwing out caps,” senior Katie Schneider said.
