On the morning of Friday, May 22, a student was injured in a traffic-related incident at the entrance to FHN.
Principal Darlene Jones announced shortly after school started that morning a few details of what happened. Jones said junior Jennifer Helton was injured, but few details had been made available.
While the extent of Helton’s injuries is currently unknown, she was talking after the accident before an ambulance arrived to take her to St. Joe’s Hospital. Her mother accompanied her in the ambulance according to Jones.
In an attempt to keep traffic flowing normally, teachers Courtney Freeman and Tim Besse directed cars in and out of the parking lot. Both were thanked in the announcement made by Jones.
