After school on Tues. the first Chem club meeting of the year was held. With a turnout of about 15 people, sponsor Karen Hill was very pleased. This certain group of people was very diverse, but their interest in chemistry brought them all together. Some new members learned how things worked in the club.
“I decided to join Chem club this year because it’s something different then I normally do,” new member Alex Belton said. “I took chemistry last year so I thought this might be kind of fun.”
With members new and old the club went right to work doing a fun, but yet relaxed experiment, everyone gathered outside to use Mentos and soda to conduct explosions.
“I joined Chem club freshman year to hang out with Dan and Andrew Brodnik and blow things up,” three year member Michael McGreal said.
