On Sept. 10, Volunteer Knights will be holding the first hat day of the year. In order to wear a hat around school, students must pay $1. All of the proceeds go to benefit Juvenile Diabetes.
“We chose Juvenile Diabetes because it’s a big deal and a serious problem in our world,” sophomore Alex Oppenborn said. “For the kids that have it, it is a major set back in their lives.”
The money that the students pay in order to wear a hat, will be collected Thursday morning during first hour. For everyone that donated, a yellow bracelet will be given to them, or anyone else that would like to donate but not wear a hat.
“We hope everyone donates to this great cause,” sponsor Kellie Hausner said.
