Rockin’ the Cross

After being in the works since February, this Thursday, Sept. 17 starting at 5:30, the Church of the Shepard is hosting their second annual CrossRock concert. All faiths are welcome to come and worship together in the lawn seating and rock out to the Christian bands that will be featured including the Brandon Salter Band, Building 429 and Todd Agnew.

“It’s a unique opportunity to worship outdoors,” CrossRock events manager Kate Manfull said. “It’s a whole different venue to be outdoors on the lawn seating. And with all kinds of churches coming, this opportunity is really rare.”

Tickets are being sold in advance online and at various venues listed on their website for $10. Tickets at the door will be $12. Doors will open at 5:30 and food and drinks will be available. At 6:30, opening acts will perform then at 7:30 the headliners will appear to play their sets.

“It’s gonna be a cool little place for the community to go, hang out and listen to music,” former FHN student Tyler Kirk said. “It’ll be a pretty tight show.”
