Girls create a their own tradition

shoessizedEvery year girls participate in many traditions such as powderpuff, spirit week, decorating hallways, senior chick shirts, and the parade. This year girls decided to make a new tradition of dressing up on Wednesday’s. Also known as “We’re so fine Wednesdays”.

Kirsten Washington came up with the idea one day during class. She noticed all the football players dressing up and thought this is something girls should do.
Every Wednesday any girl who chooses to participate will dress up in any kind of formal wear. Many girls found out about the event through friends and a facebook group that Brittany Velasco created. The facebook group has 119 fans and is still growing.

Although the event has just started Velasco and Washington thought it would be a fun thing for girls to do.

“I created the group because I thought it was a good idea,” Velasco said. “It gives girls a chance to actually dress up because a lot of people will scrub during the week.”
