Yesterday’s annual homecoming parade was held along Hackmann Road at 4:30 p.m. outside the school. Those participating were asked to meet up at McClay library at 3:30 p.m.
Sebenteen clubs participated. Some made floats, some walked and handed out candy, some decorated cars and rode in them. If you had a car and had dressed up or decorated the car you were still considered a float. NHS had a van that they decorated with balloons. The ecology club used Brocksmith’s truck, and club members were dressed up. One person had bottles wrapped all around them.
“Everything went smoothly, seeing all the floats go out OK was my favorite part,” StuCo cabinet member Katie Tyndall said.
The winners of the float were announced today in 1st hour. First place went to FBLA, second went to the ecology club and third went to the junior class.
“My favorite was the junior delegates float because they took a lot of time to be creative,” StuCo cabinet member Justin Jones said.
One thing that the parade lacked from last year according to a StuCo member was attendance.
“There was a lot more people last year,” Tyndall said. “I think that we could have done better with advertising.”
