Spirit Week brings everyone together.

decade The halls of FHN were immersed in school spirit as students from each class dressed up for fun and competition. Sept. 21- 25 was Spirit Week in preparation of Homecoming which was this past Saturday, Sept. 26.

Spirit Week began with a blast from the past for FHN’s staff. On Decade Day, numerous Hippies and afros could be found. Monday was also StuCo sponsor Jani Wilkens’ favorite day of the week.

“It’s just so funny to see the styles from when I was younger, especially the ’80s.” Wilkens said.

The week continued with Stoplight Day on Tuesday. If a student has a date for tonight’s dance, they wore red. If they are single, they wore green. Yellow showed complication in the relationship. Wednesday was an all out competition between the juniors and the seniors. Powderpuff clothing accompanied ‘Wild Wednesday’ as the students dreesed as wacky as possible. Many students prefer this day because it builds excitment for the annual Powderpuff game Wednesday night.

“My favorite day would have to be Wednesday because I got to wear my Powderpuff jersey and it got me pumped for later that night.” junior Alex Belton said.

On Thursday, it was battle of the classes as Freshmen wore blue, Sophomores wore Maroon, Juniors wore green and Seniors wore purple. Ending the week united, FHN students wore black and gold on Friday in honor of the first Pep Assembly of the year. FHN Spirit Weeks are important to North and are encouraged by both students and staff.

“I think [Spirit Week] brings everybody together and makes the mood at FHN a lot happier.” Belton said.
