A ‘Storm’ of problems

The Blackberry Storm is Verizon Wireless’ newest Blackberry and their most technologically advanced phone. It is stylish and has a new type of touch screen that you can actually click. It has on the go browsing which makes looking up information easier than ever. But with technology comes technical difficulty.

At first the Blackberry Storm functions like a normal phone at

an average speed. Over time though, after the browser has

been used frequently for social networking such as Myspace

and Facebook, the phone begins to lose speed. If you click the

screen, it takes a couple of seconds before the phone will

compute what you want it to do. On rare occasions, the

phone will stop working completely which can only be solved

by taking the battery out and waiting a few minutes. This

malfunction makes the Blackberry Storm unreliable for

emergencies. Another significant negative about the

Blackberry Storm is that it is vastly over-sized. It is bigger

and heavier than an average sized deck of cards. The phone

is not consistant with the way it charges as well. Sometimes

the phone can go days without charging and other times it

will only go a few hours before dying.

Overall, the Blackberry Storm has its ups and downs.

I would only suggest getting it if you plan to use it

to do business because of its Internet and email capabilities,

or if you are a very patient person. Otherwise, you should

stick with a sturdy, compact, and speedy phone
