On Friday Oct. 30, Knightline will be performing during Senior Night, the last Varsity football game of the 09-10 school year. The routine they are performing is a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, who passed away on June 25.
“It was different because it wasn’t the type of choreography they [Knightline] are used to,” Head Coach Kelly Pierce said.
The routine was choreographed by Alicia Delaney and Amanda Pirrone. Delaney and Pirrone watched The King of Pop’s music videos and choreographed some of his famous pelvic thrusting moves into their own routine for Knightline.
“I like the routine because they put a lot of actual Michael Jackson in it, so it’s authentic MJ,” senior Holly Edmondson said.
The routine took 2 weeks for Knightline to learn and and lasts for about two and a half minutes. Songs such as Beat It, Bad, and Thriller are incorporated into the routine.
“My favorite part is the Thriller part. The girls have a fun time acting that part out, and at the end they pretend they’re zombies,” Pierce said.
The next event for Knightline will be performing during the DECA Jumpoff on Nov. 12. They will be performing their Unstoppable routine, which was also performed during the spirit week pep-assembly.
“I think they [the crowd] will like the routine because it’s Michael Jackson,” junior Nita Stein said. “And a lot of people like Michael Jackson.”
