Everyday students walk in and out of the lunch room, many greeted by Al Preston. On Nov. 30 it was Preston’s 90th birthday.
“It was like Christmas,” Preston said.
Preston got many gifts like shaving cream, shirts, a jacket, and candy.
“The best part was my son from here from Florida and my granddaughter was here from Colorado,” Preston said.
During the day, channel two and channel five both came to interview Preston and it aired on television.
“If I knew they were coming I would have worn my tie,’ Preston said.
To end the day, Darleen Jones and other faculty threw Preston a small party in the library with cake and soda.
“It was great,” Preston said. “If it was any better I wouldn’t have been able to stand it.”
