In September, the entire sophomore class gathered in the large gym to take their PLAN test, or test to prepare for the ACT. On December 8th at 7 p.m in the commons, both parents and students were invited to join a meeting talking about the test, receiving scores, and understanding the way the PLAN test worked. Not only did the students get the test scores back, but both parents and students also got the chance to talk about future careers and college plans.

“When I got my scores back and read through the packet, I realized that I am well on my way to being ready and prepared for college,” sophomore Alex Savala said.

Attending this meeting gave students a change to understand where they stood academically and how much more time and effort they needed to put into their school work to go to the college or get the career of their choice. Although parents were not the ones taking the test, it was important for them to attend the meeting so that they themselves could see how their child was doing and see if they could help them excel in any area that needed improvement.

“I found this meeting to be only somewhat informative since I’ve got older children so I’ve been through this before, but I did learn more about my daughter’s way of learning,” Sandy Best, mother of sophomore Samantha Best said.
