On Dec. 9, Mu Alpha Theta held a bake sale in the commons at 7 a.m. to help raise money for the club.
“We always pick a math date, so we picked the date 12-9-09 because it is all multiples of three,” President of Mu Alpha Theta Danielle Wu said. “The bake sale went as expected. A lot of people bought, but not as much as if we would have sold during the school day.”
At their last bake sale, Mu Alpha Theta made around $200, but at this one they made about half of that.
“It wasn’t quite as successful as it typically is because we were a little low on baked goods,” senior member Soo Yang said. “In the beginning it’s typically a lot stronger. I still think it was pretty successful though; I sold a big Tupperware of cookies in one homeroom.”
Members have already began to think of ways to make their next bake sale even more successful.
“I would have to say that we need to have better advertising, not only to customers, but also to Mu Alpha Theta members, so they can earn their points and we can have a more successful bake sale,” Yang said. “Also, we need to actively be letting people know the next time we have a bake sale.”
