On Friday, Dec. 11, FHN Student Council hosted Mock Rock in the auditorium. Students had the opportunity to dress up and lip sync to a song while dancing, providing an opportunity for many laughs. A few of the acts included Dylan Thayer, who performed to “Bye, Bye, Bye” by ‘N Sync and Justin Jones, Laurel Reese, and Jason Lindsay, who performed to a mix of songs.
“It was a really good turnout,” Jones said. “It was a lot more [people] than I expected to come and people enjoyed it and that’s what matters.”
There were seven acts total at the event, and despite a technical glitch, Student Council president Crystal Friedman saw this year’s Mock Rock as a success.
“There were a couple mishaps,” Friedman said. “However, I think the show went really well.”
After the judges made their decision, the winners were announced to be Andrea O’Brien, Christina Womack, and Nick Marquart for their performance of “Tearing Up My Heart” by ‘N Sync. Each of the winners was clearly excited about their achievement.
“It feels great,” Marquart said. ” I feel like I did a good job and I worked hard to achieve it.
