FHNtoday.com is hosting its newest contest, Twelve Days of FHNtoday.com, to give back to students at North.

From Dec. 11-22 students are able to donate money at lunch or before and after school in room 26. For every dollar that a student spends, they will receive a raffle ticket. At the end of each day, the results will be unveiled on FHNtoday.com to see who won a prize.

“Throughout the contest, people can check FHNtoday.com anytime after school to see who that days prize winner was,” Junior publications member Katie O’Neil said. “The winning raffle ticket number will be in the rotator on the home page, so it will be really easy to find.”

Prizes consist of various gift certificates to restaurants and businesses
around the community, such as Slackers, Culver’s, and Mcalister’s. German club and the football team are also donating items.

“In order for us to get businesses to donate, we made a flyer and took it around to places a lot of FHN kids go to,” Senior publications member Julia Gabbert said. “We presented them with the reasoning behind our contest, and it was really nice to see some businesses help us out.”

At the end of the raffle, all of the money gathered will go to Adopt-A-Family which, in turn, will put the money in various students’ lunch accounts, at North, that are in need. The motivation for the contest was realizing the importance of giving back to people less fortunate and wanting to make many students aware of this same feeling.

“There are people out there who are deserving and it feels great to be able to do something for them,” Senior pubclications member Crystal Friedman
