Brett Lindsay’s hard work finally pays off

Since the summer, senior Brett Lindsay has been preparing for the All State Jazz Band auditions, on Dec. 5 all of his hard work payed off when he was awarded the second chair at the audition.

“It was pretty incredible,” Lindsay said. “There were only three trombone chairs.”

Lindsay has been involved with band since the sixth grade, but wasn’t introduced to Jazz until he attended a summer camp the same year; he’s been interested in Jazz ever since. He’s not thinking of majoring in music education.

“[My favorite part of Jazz is] when everyone can come together and just groove,” Lindsay said. “It’s pretty cool.”
